Richie Mensah’s interest in competing for the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Vice President position is “worth it,” says rapper Sarkodie.

Mensah announced his interest some two weeks ago.

“I do support Richie. I think he has done well. He is literally controlling the airwaves at this point with incredible talents,” stated the ‘Adonai’ rapper to Citi TV’s Nana Adwoa Sarkodie-Mensah.

“For him to be able to manage all these artistes and his career has been built on building people’s careers which is very hard so for him to have that heart and patience to be doing that, I think to take a leadership position is worth it.”

The Lynx Entertainment lead announced his intention to compete for the position via a video posted online.

It finds Mensah listing some achievements after 12 years in the Ghanaian music industry and his reason for deciding to contest for the position.

“In my efforts to standardize the industry, I embarked on projects such as Music Plus, Music this Week, The Future project, an official Ghana music chart and Ghana Music Live App,” stated the current Director of Music Standards of the music body.

“There is so much more that can still be done, which is why when nominations open I will be picking up forms to stand for Vice President for MUSIGA.”

The elections will be held on June 28, 2019. A new president will also be elected to replace Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour).

Under the leadership of Mensah, Lynx Entertainment has nurtured the talents of the likes of Kidi, Kuami Eugene, MzVee, OJ Blaq, Eazzy, and Asem.

He also owns Cockpit Lounge and Bar at the Achimota Retail Centre, and an ushering agency.
