The late Highlife musician, Anokye Supremo was then popularly known as Daddy Lumba Jnr who never made it back to Ghana alive after being sent to India for a brain tumour surgery, was finally laid to rest a few days ago.

Even though there is no happiness in attending one’s funeral but Anokye Supremo’s burial ceremony was one the saddest ever I have ever seen in Ghana as his own colleagues in the music industry, as well as MUSIGA itself, refused to show their faces there due to reasons known to themselves.

A lot of Ghanaians have expressed disappointment in the Union (MUSIGA) as well as the members for discriminatively snubbing his funeral.

American-based Ghanaian social media evangelist, Evangelist Addai Mensah, known for his controversial remarks on Ghanaian related issues has explained the reasons why none of the musicians in Ghana as well as their union failed to attend the funeral.

According to him, one question Ghanaians should be asking themselves is Anokye Supremo’s untimely death is no different from the late Ebony Reigns who was given a state burial, so why then was Anokye neglected by his own members?

“It was Daddy Lumba who killed his ‘son’ and knowing he will be beaten when he goes to the funeral, he then decided to not to attend at all, and because Daddy Lumba didn’t attend, that is why MUSIGA and it’s members also didn’t go there…” he said.
